Barbie Hunt, has been creating art for more than forty years including pottery, paintings, collage works on paper, and hand painted PrayerSilks.

Barbie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and sculpture and two Master of Arts degrees in Ceramics and in English Literature. Beginning as a production potter, she managed Pennyroyal Pottery for six years, and for ten years served as director of the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts. In 1998, she returned to creating art and opened Barbie Hunt Studio next door to the Main Street Prayer Center and Healing Rooms where she is director along with her husband. There she handcrafted liturgical vessels in porcelain and stoneware and developed water media and collage images drawn from her faith journey. In 2016,  she moved her studio to her home.

Her work is in many corporate and private collections, and she exhibits works regularly. Her work is currently exhibited at Gather, Main Street Prayer Center at 35 North Main Street in Madisonville, Kentucky.
